Claudia Kaatziza Cortínez, a visual artist based in New York, explores memory, identity, and home through photography, sculpture, and printmaking. Holding a BFA from RISD and an MFA from Yale, her work merges photograms, rubbings, and architectural casts to evoke real and imagined landscapes.
Her large-scale installations replicate site-specific spaces, incorporating archival family texts and poetic collaborations. She has received grants and residencies such as the Yale Norfolk Teaching Fellowship and Silver Art Projects. She is also the co-founder of LAZO, a Latinx artist collective focused on participatory projects.
