Robyn Moody

Robyn Moody was born in 1975 in Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada, and lives and works in Calgary. He received a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Lethbridge in 2000 and a Master of Fine Arts from NSCAD University in 2006. His multidisciplinary practice incorporates electronics, mechanics, sound, film, performance, installation and sculpture, examining the relationships between technological advances, human belief and the public understanding of science, religion, politics and nature. His work has been presented at the Banff Centre, the Owens Art Gallery, the Confederation Centre for the Arts and the Alternator Centre for Contemporary Art in Canada, as well as at international festivals including Transmediale in Berlin, Scopitone in Nantes, Biennale Némo in Paris and MUTEK in Barcelona. He has held a residency at Werkleitz in Germany and was longlisted for the Sobey Art Award in 2010. He has been a sessional instructor in Media Arts and Digital Technology at the Alberta University of the Arts.
