María Paula Massarutti
Paula Massarutti (La Plata, 1976) is an Argentine visual artist and researcher based in Buenos Aires. She holds a Master’s in Latin American Contemporary Aesthetics (UNDAV), a BA and Professorship in Arts (UNLP), and trained at the Centro de Investigaciones Artísticas, Buenos Aires. Her work, rooted in research and political-poetic reflection, explores the intersections of life, labor, memory, and production.
Massarutti has been awarded prestigious grants including Activar Patrimonio (Museo Nacional de Arte Oriental, 2021), BECAR Cultura (Beijing, 2019), FNA Creation Grant (2017), and the Alec Oxenford Collection Field Research Grant (2015). She has had solo shows at UNLP Art Center, Galería Piedras, and EAC Montevideo, and participated in group exhibitions in France, Iran, Chile, Brazil, and Argentina, including Bienalsur and Parque de la Memoria. Her work is part of major museum collections and has received top awards at the Salón Nacional de Rosario, Bienal Nacional de Rafaela, and Museo Rosa Galisteo.
