Nicolás Bacal

Nicolás Bacal (Buenos Aires, 1985) is a visual artist and musician with a degree in Electroacoustic Composition from the National University of Quilmes. His work merges visual arts, sound, and temporality, with a focus on landscape, cycles, and perception. He trained at Fundación Telefónica, Centro Cultural Rojas, the CIA (Centro de Investigaciones Artísticas, 2009), the UTDT Artist Program (2012), and the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture in the U.S. (2014). Since 2007, Bacal has held solo shows at prominent galleries including Alberto Sendrós and Ignacio Liprandi (Buenos Aires), JTM and gb agency (Paris), and Vermelho (São Paulo). He was featured in the 12th Istanbul Biennial (2011) and the 9th Mercosur Biennial (2013). As a musician, he was part of the project lile, which released an album with the German label Monika Enterprise in 2007. He currently teaches at the National University of Tres de Febrero (UNTREF) and lives in Buenos Aires.
