David Goldblatt
David Goldblatt was a South African photographer who documented the country’s social landscape for over 50 years. His series In Boksburg exposed apartheid's contradictions, while Structures explored architecture as a political reflection.
He received awards such as the Infinity Lifetime Achievement Award and the Henri Cartier-Bresson Award. His work has been exhibited at the Centre Pompidou, MoMA, and the Venice Biennale. In 1989, he founded the Market Photography Workshop in Johannesburg, where he lived until his passing in 2018.
