Juan Carlos Romero

Juan Carlos Romero (Buenos Aires, 1931) was a prominent Argentine artist whose work spanned various disciplines such as graphic art, visual poetry, installations, and performances. He studied at the Escuela Superior de Bellas Artes at the UNLP and was known for his exploration of the intersection between art and politics, participating in collectives such as “Arte Gráfico-Grupo Buenos Aires” and “La Mutual Art-Gentina.” His awards include the Grand Prize in Printmaking at the XIII Municipal Salon Manuel Belgrano (1964), the Grand Prize of Honor at the LXIII National Salon (1969), and the Konex Platinum Award (2012). He also taught at several major academic institutions. He passed away in 2017 in Buenos Aires.
