Daniel Ontiveros

Daniel Ontiveros is an Argentine visual artist born in 1963 in Buenos Aires. His work merges art history with the Latin American context through installations, paintings, and objects. Trained at the Martín Malharro School of Visual Arts, he first exhibited at the Castagnino Museum in 1984. He has received grants from the John Simon Guggenheim Foundation (2007) and the National Fund for the Arts (2001), as well as a residency at Art Omi, New York (1997). In 2008, he was named Outstanding Personality of Culture, and in 2015, Illustrious Citizen of the Province of Buenos Aires. He has participated in the Havana Biennial, São Paulo Biennial, and exhibitions in France, Germany, and the USA, establishing himself as a key figure in contemporary Argentine art.
