Declinación Magnética

Magnetic Declination is an artistic research and audiovisual production group that critically examines colonial history through a postcolonial and decolonial lens. The concept of magnetic declination reflects the difference between magnetic and geographic north, symbolizing distortions in knowledge systems and measurement models. The group, composed of visual artists, theorists, and curators, merges artistic strategies with interdisciplinary research methodologies. Their core approach is producing “film capsules,” audiovisual pieces blending fiction, nonfiction, and essay, rethinking the colonial past and present through a Spanish and European perspective in the context of a global crisis. Members of the collective include Aimar Arriola, José Manuel Bueso, Diego del Pozo, Eduardo Galvagni, Juan Guardiola, Sally Gutiérrez, Julia Morandeira, and Silvia Zayas.
