Yael Bartana
Yael Bartana, born in 1970 in Kfar Yehezkel, Israel, is a multidisciplinary artist who works between Berlin and Amsterdam. Her practice explores national identity, trauma, and displacement through films, installations, photographs, staged performances, and public monuments. Bartana has exhibited worldwide at institutions such as the Jewish Museum Berlin and the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam. She has participated in major biennials, including the Venice Biennale (German Pavilion, 2024) and the São Paulo Biennale (2014, 2010). Her trilogy And Europe Will Be Stunned was recognized as one of the most important art works of the 21st century by The Guardian.
