Diana Villamizar
Diana Villamizar (Caracas, Venezuela, September 14) is a visual artist with a Master’s in Visual Design from the Scuola Politecnica di Design in Milan. She has worked as an Art and Visual Design professor at the Universidad Pedagógica Experimental Libertador in Caracas and has exhibited her work in Venezuela, Italy, the United States, Colombia, Argentina, Spain, El Salvador, and Cuba.
Since 2007, her work has focused on the Colombia-Venezuela border, addressing migration and everyday life through contextual art and augmented reality. Some of her most notable projects include La de todos los días, Cambio libre, and Sola para señoras. Currently, she researches migratory aesthetics in contemporary art, highlighting the experience of migration.
Villamizar has received awards such as First Prize at the Digital Art Salon in Maracaibo (2006), Second Prize in Erotic Art (2011), and an Honorable Mention at the XIII Visual Arts Salon (2012). Her work is part of public and private collections.
