The second edition of BIENALSUR 2019, the cultural event of contemporary art from Argentina to the world, presents at MAR - Contemporary Art Museum of the Province of Buenos Aires - in the city of Mar del Plata, on July 13 from 12:30, a tour and dialogue through the works that Argentine artists Jorge Macchi and Edgardo Rudnizky jointly undertook. In this way, the biennial reaches another point in its singular cartography that will continue to unfold until the month of November with exhibitions of 400 artists in more than one hundred venues - with which it works jointly and collaboratively - in 43 cities in twenty countries.
The International Biennial of Contemporary Art of South America, within the program Suspended Borders, presents on July 13 at the MAR - Contemporary Art Museum of the Province of Buenos Aires "Maratón" which will show for the first time all the works that Jorge Macchi and Edgardo Rudnitzky undertook together since 2003 (videos, video installations, sound installations and performances) in dialogue with the artists. The event will be presented in two blocks from 12.30 to 03 pm and from 03.30 pm to 06.00 pm.
Curated by Sebastián Tedesco and Mariano Luna, "Maratón" is an excellent opportunity to get to know in depth the works and thoughts of these two artists and to reflect on the dilution of the idea of the artist as an individual author; the limits and integration between visual and sound art; distance work, travel and Argentine artists on the global scene, among other topics.
Suspended Frontiers is a pedagogical and curatorial project developed at the MAR Museum - Contemporary Art Museum of the Province of Buenos Aires since 2016, coordinated by Sebastián Tedesco and Mariano Luna. It proposes a space of thought and creation in relation to the limits and the permeable contacts that separate contemporary art from the other, which is always there, apparently outside its field, in many cases from different trades or professions, sometimes in relation to institutions, exhibition spaces and geographical borders.
